COMPANY OVERVIEW
The Westmorland-Albert Solid Waste Corporation (WASWC) is responsible for waste management in Westmorland and Albert counties, as well as Kent and areas of Kings and Queens counties. Established in 1992, the Corporation recognizes the importance of environmental protection and enhancement and is committed to providing leadership in solid waste management for the communities it serves. In 1999, the WASWC implemented the Wet/Dry Program in an effort to achieve the highest possible rate of diversion of waste from landfill. Today, the Corporation continues to produce Grade ÒAÓ compost from the Wet waste and recover recyclables from the Dry waste to send to various markets for recycling.
