COMPANY OVERVIEW

The Fredericton Region Solid Waste Commission (FRSWC) is responsible for solid waste management for 120,000 people in the Greater Fredericton area. The FRSWC operates a sanitary landfill, whcih was the first of its kind in the province of New Brunswick, opening in 1986. The Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) was expanded recently in order to handle increased tonnages of diverted recyclables. Waste diversion programs include a Blue Box/Gray Box Curbside Collection Program, a Recycling Depot Program, and a Recycling at Work Program. A Household Hazardous Waste Depot at the Fredericton Landfill Site provides a year-round service to residents in the region.
