COMPANY OVERVIEW
Buchanan Environmental Ltd. is a specialized firm providing aquatic
toxicity assessment of industrial effluents/wastewater and environmental
consulting services. Services are provided to an extensive number
of industrial, government, and environmental agencies throughout the
Atlantic region. All testing services are conducted in full compliance
with Environment Canada biological test methods and protocols (EPS
1/RM/13,14, 21).
Buchanan Environmental Ltd. is accredited by the Canadian Association
for Laboratory Accreditation (CALA), for specified testing procedures
and protocol. All policies, procedures and methodologies adopted by
Buchanan Environmental Ltd. are binding on all affected personnel
and conform to the requirements of the relevant national and international
standards for laboratory competency (ISO Guide 17025).
Buchanan Environmental Ltd. works in association with clients to provide,
prompt, thorough, and responsive environmental monitoring, or regulatory
compliance testing of many types of wastewater/effluents utilizing
various testing procedures and aquatic test organisms. Buchanan Environmental
Ltd. provides acute and sublethal toxicity assessment of effluents,
wastewater and leachates, utilizing various aquatic test organisms
such as: Daphnia magna, rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss), and Ceriodaphnia
dubia. All testing is conducted promptly, in full compliance with
Environment Canada biological test methods and protocols. Response
is expressed as a measure of lethality; pass/fail or LC50/EC50, IC50
or NOEC/LOEN as specified and determined by statistical analysis.
Buchanan Environmental Ltd. provides responsive, quality, toxicological
assessment for all types of wastewater samples as well as guaranteed
sample security and record confidentiality.
